2020 Gutsriesling feinherb

Matthias Knebel, Winningen

The 2019er Riesling feinherb is made of casks from steeper parts of the Winninger Domgarten, which stopped their fermentation at off-dry levels of residual sugar (19 g/l). It offers a hugely spicy and intense nose made of pear, mirabelle, lemongrass, aniseed herbs, quite some creamy elements, and spices.
The wine has the presence of a high-end off-dry Riesling on the palate, where zesty elements provide the right focus to gorgeous flavors of fruits, minerals, and spices. The finish is really off-dry but some zesty acidity gives the wine a great sense of tension in the creamy after-taste. This wine cruises far above the normal standards of an Estate wine:
What a glorious success! 90 - MoselFineWines
Our flagship. The first impression. And that counts - because thereby we want to convince you! Elegant and hearty Riesling off-dry with everything that belongs to it. The solid base.
